Frequently Asked Questions
Your age is calculated by subtracting your date of birth from today's date (or your chosen 'as of' date), accounting for the exact number of days in each month and leap years. The result is broken down into years, remaining months, and remaining days.
Your total age in days is shown in the stat boxes below the main result. The calculation counts every calendar day from your date of birth to today, including leap year days.
Change the 'Age as of' date to any past date and the calculator will show how old you were on that day. Useful for finding out how old you were when a historical event occurred.
Most countries calculate age by counting how many birthdays have passed. However, in South Korea the traditional system counts everyone as 1 year old at birth and adds a year on January 1st each year — this can make Korean age 1–2 years higher than the international calculation.
Subtract the birth year from the current year. If your birthday has not yet occurred this year, subtract one more. For example: born June 15, 2000; today is March 1, 2026 → 2026 − 2000 − 1 = 25 years old (birthday has not yet occurred in 2026).
